  • bboxprobe.session_token: keeps You signed in. Persistent: it expires 7 days after You last used the Website, or when You sign out.
  • bboxprobe.state: set for 5 minutes while You sign in with Google or GitHub, so nobody else can complete Your sign-in.

On bboxprobe.com their names start with __Secure-, so browsers send them over encrypted connections only. When We sign in as a user to help them, We also use a bboxprobe.admin_session Cookie, in Our own browser.

Local Storage

The Website also stores two values in Your browser, which are never sent to Us:

  • theme (local storage): Your choice of light or dark theme.
  • bbox_pending_monitor_target (session storage): the URL You checked on the home page, so it can become Your first monitor after You sign up. Deleted once used, or when You close the tab.
